At Tree of Life, we develop a sense of spirituality and tradition for our Jewish and non-Jewish learners alike.

We do this by:

  • Welcoming all families, Jewish and non-Jewish, to join us in celebrating and learning about Judaism’s connection to the world

  • Reinforcing the concept of Tikun Olam (Caring for the World) through activities both in the classroom and outside

  • Reinforcing the concept of Mitzvot (G-d’s Commandments) by teaching and modeling acts of kindness (Gemilut Chasadim)

  • Modeling how to treat others (Derech Eretz)

  • Introducing ways to respect our environment (Shemirat HaAdamah)

  • Introducing Hebrew language through basic vocabulary, songs, and prayers

  • Making time every day to say prayers (Tefilah) teaching the foundational idea that G-d created us and the world - then gifted it to us to care for

  • Welcoming Shabbat each week and learning about the holidays and celebrating the basic traditions of each

  • We observe Shabbat by closing early every Friday in support of families having the opportunity to celebrate in their own way
